Director of Production & Inventory

The Director of Production & Inventory is responsible for the direction, organization, and coordination of the day-to-day activities of the Production & Inventory team. Lead the growth and development of production processes and scheduling to maximize productivity, efficiency, quality, safety and customer service at all times; ensure annual cost recovery of all production operations. Provide direction to the inventory management and parts manufacturing team to ensure both on-going production efficiencies/deliveries, as well as customer inventory stocks are maintained. Support the business Development Department to assist their quoting/estimating and sales administration activities for customer service. Provides personal leadership to enhance Production & Inventory team members’ productivity and results to create positive and productive relationships with all internal and external parties to maximize organizational effectiveness and results.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all work orders leading the daily scheduling meetings to discuss new priorities, schedule changes and sets direction for the day.
  • Performs a daily evaluation of productivity and quality from each production area comparing results to established objectives and ensuring correction of unsatisfactory results in a timely manner.
  • Directs on-going machine and equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance schedules to ensure processes are deployed and followed in the production areas.
  • Provides on-going support and priority for quality assurance in all production processes and output including the implementation of process controls and documentation.
  • Engages with external sub-contractors for the provision of specialized services required by the customer, i.e. heat treating, plating, anodizing, etc., and collaborates with the Production Team to ensure implementation.
  • Responsible for leading and motivating Production Supervisors to achieve and exceed productivity goals and objectives, management of hours and direct/indirect costs.
  • Models a culture of safety excellence where safety, quality, productivity and efficiency go hand in hand. Reviews and reports on all safety incidents or infractions.
  • Establishes a production budget, controlling and forecasting of current expenses and making decisions based on a cost/benefit analysis that follows a capital expenditure approval process for new assets.
  • Establishes and oversees effective process and decision making around procurement, stocking levels and in house manufacturing that is both cost effective and accelerates the lead time.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma. Post Secondary Education in a technical field and/or business would be considered an asset.
  • Work Experience: 5+ Years preferred of relevant industry experience in a management role or similar.
  • Skills: Management and Leadership skills. Excellent communication skills. Business Savy individual who possess strong problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge: Business Acumen. Rotating Equipment. Reciprocating Compressor components and pump fundamentals an asset.

  • Monday to Friday (8AM to 5PM)
